Peer Review Process

All submissions to the UKLO Proceedings undergo an initial screening by a member of the editorial team. At this stage, manuscripts may be declined without external peer review if they are deemed to be of insufficient quality or outside the scope of the UKLO Proceedings. Submissions that pass the initial screening are forwarded for a fully anonymous, double-blind peer review by experts in the relevant field. All manuscripts under review are handled with strict confidentiality until publication.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of the manuscripts. Their feedback should be impartial and based solely on the academic merit of the work. Reviewers are also encouraged to identify any relevant published research not cited by the authors.

Confidentiality must be maintained with respect to any information received during the review process, whether from the editor or the author. Reviewers should refrain from making personal remarks or inappropriate criticism. Furthermore, they must disclose any potential personal or financial conflicts of interest and should decline to review a manuscript if such a conflict exists.

There are several types of decisions possible:
